World Postcard Day- a day to celebrate the postcard and the connections it brings. In 2020, Postcrossing, a leading postcard exchange platform and Finepaper decided to launch the World Postcard Day on every October 1st. This year the 3rd World Postcard Day was observed by postcrossers and deltiologist across the world. The day was celebrated by organizing meet-ups, releasing special picture postcards, postmarks etc.
Like last year, this year also I got a chance to participate in one of the postcard exchange program by a group of 10 members to commemorate the day. The goal was to promote sharing thoughts by writing postcards.
Besides this I had a plan to earn ‘WPD’ badge in postcrossing. To earn this badge the sender needs to send at least one postcard on World Postcard Day. So I sent 5 postcards to different addresses across the world.
The official postcard designed by French animation student and postcrosser Pauline Chrétien.
Maharashtra Postal Circle issued a special postmark at all 6 philatelic bureaus of the circle to commemorate the day.
Here I am sharing some of the postcards I received from different parts of the country posted on 1st Oct, 2022.
