The Commemorative Postage Stamp also pays tribute to ‘Collarwali’ the famous tigress of Pench Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, which passed away in January, 2022. This Super MOM, tigress had given birth to 29 tiger cubs in her life time and an astonishing 25 cubs had survived into adulthood.

Description: Pandit Sawai Gandharva was a popular Hindustani Classical vocalist from Karnataka. He was a master in the genre of Kirana Gharana style. He was the first and foremost disciple of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan and guru of Bharat Ratna laureate Bhimsen Joshi. Pt. Gandharva is most well known for popularizing the stylings of the Kirana Gharana through his accomplished disciples, including Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Dr. Gangubai Hangal, Firoz Dastur, and Basavaraj Rajguru.

Description: Postal Index Number (PIN), or PIN code, refers to a six-digit code in the Indian postal code system used by India Post. The first digit of a PIN indicates the zone, the second indicates the sub-zone, and the third, combined with the first two, indicates the sorting district within that zone. The final three digits are assigned to individual post offices within the sorting district. The PIN system was introduced on 15 August 1972 by Shriram Bhikaji Velankar, an additional secretary in the Union Ministry of Communications. On 15th August, 2022 PIN has been celebrating its 50th Anniversary.

The General Assembly also elected a new President and other officials to lead the organization. The theme of the 90th General Assembly was “Collaboration for a safer world.”

150th Birth Anniversary of Vijay Vallabh Surishwer

Description: Acharya Vijay Vallabhsuri, also known as Vijay Vallabh Surishwer, was a Jain monk and disciple of Vijayanandsuri. He founded various educational institutions, including Shree Parshwanath Jain Vidyalaya in 1927, Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya in Mumbai, Vadodara, and Pune, Parshwanath Umed Mahavidyalaya in Falna, Atmanand Jain College in Ambala and Malerkotla, and Atmanand Jain High School in various cities. His statue, measuring 151 inches, was installed at Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra in Pali, Rajasthan and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 151st birth anniversary in November 2020.

75 Years of Assam Medical College

Description: Assam Medical College was established in Dibrugarh in 1947, it started as Berry White School of Medicine in 1900 by Dr John Berry White. The first batch of MBBS in the year 1947 had 57 students. The college has grown and now boasts of an annual intake of 200 MBBS seats and 217 Post graduate seats. It has 28 full-fledged departments, including 8 super speciality departments. The college has a strong research foundation, it was the pioneer in establishing the model rural health research unit (MRHRU) and multidisciplinary research unit (MRU). It is the nodal center for many national health programs and referral center for many districts in the region.

Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma

Description: Pa Togan Sangma, also known as Togan Sangma or Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma, was a freedom fighter and leader of the Garo tribe in the Northeast region of India. He fought against the British occupation of Garo Hills in 1872, using plantain stem shields in an attempt to stop bullets. Pa Togan Nengminja died in the ensuing battle against the British soldiers, who were equipped with guns. He is remembered as a hero in the Garo community for his bravery and sacrifice.

Description: Sri Aurobindo was an Indian philosopher, yogi, and nationalist leader. He is known for his philosophy of Integral Yoga, which combines spiritual practice with social action. Sri Aurobindo was also a political activist, working for India’s independence from British rule. After India gained independence, he retired from politics and focused on spiritual teachings, establishing an ashram in Pondicherry, India. Sri Aurobindo’s writings and teachings continue to be widely studied and respected around the world. He passed away in 1950 at the age of 79.

Description: Shree Visaman Bapu was an incarnation of Ramdev Pir, a saint who was famous for his devotion and brilliance from a young age. He was born in the Kathi clan of Paliyad village and established Yatradham, a magnificent temple 15 kilometers away from Botad. He overcame the plight of many kings, ranks and aristocrats through his unique devotion and devotion. He passed away at the age of 60 and handed over the throne of Paliyad Thackeray to his nephew. His teachings are still followed today and his legacy is continued by men like Purna Thakar and Param Pujay Shree Shree 1008 Mahamandleshwar Mahantshri Nirmalaba.
